Quick Start Guide: 5W Mono Bluetooth Amplifier Decoder Board

This guide covers the necessary steps to wire, power, and pair your new Bluetooth amplifier module. Note: This board requires basic soldering skills for speaker and battery connections.

📦 What You Need

  • Bluetooth Decoder Board (DC3.5V-5V 5W Mono)
  • Speaker: 2Ω to 4Ω (3W to 10W recommended)
  • Power Source (Choose one):
    • 3.7V Lithium Battery (Polymer or 18650, 500mAh to 2000mAh recommended) OR
    • DC 5V Power Supply (e.g., phone charger and Type-C cable)
  • Tools: Soldering Iron, Solder, Wires (if using battery/pads).

🛠️ Step 1: Wiring Connections (Soldering Required)

Before powering on, you must connect the speaker and battery (if using battery power). Pay close attention to polarity.

Connection Point Component Polarity/Notes
Speaker Pads 2Ω to 4Ω Speaker Connect the two speaker terminals to the designated SPK+ and SPK- pads.
Battery Pads 3.7V Lithium Battery Connect the battery Positive (+) terminal to BAT+. Connect the battery Negative (-) terminal to BAT-.
Charging/Power USB Type-C Cable Can be used to charge the connected 3.7V lithium battery OR to power the module directly (DC 5V input).
AUX Input 3.5mm Cable Use the 3.5mm jack for a wired audio input source (e.g., MP3 player, PC).

⚠️ IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE: Double-check that the 3.7V battery is connected with the correct polarity (BAT+ to positive, BAT- to negative). Reverse polarity will damage the board.

🔋 Step 2: Power On and Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Power On: If your board has an ON/OFF switch, flip it to the ON position.
    • If the wiring is correct, the blue indicator light should illuminate and you will hear a "ding-dong" or voice prompt indicating it is ready.
  2. Enter Pairing Mode: The module automatically enters Bluetooth pairing mode when powered on. The blue LED will usually flash rapidly.
  3. Connect Your Device:
    • On your smartphone, tablet, or other Bluetooth device, go to the Bluetooth settings.
    • Scan for new devices.
    • Find and select the device named "DAU Audio" (or a similar generic name).
  4. Confirmation: Once connected, the blue indicator light on the board will typically become solid (not flashing), and you may hear a confirmation tone.
  5. Play Music: You can now stream audio from your device to the connected speaker!

🔗 Advanced Use: TWS Stereo Pairing

The TWS (True Wireless Stereo) feature allows you to connect two identical decoder boards together to create a true wireless stereo speaker system (one board for the left channel, one for the right).

  1. Disconnect Phone: Ensure your phone's Bluetooth is turned OFF or disconnected from both modules.
  2. Power On Both: Turn ON both "DAU Audio" modules simultaneously.
  3. Auto-Pairing: Wait a few seconds. The two boards will attempt to pair with each other. You should hear a prompt sound confirming the TWS connection.
  4. TWS Status:
    • One module (the Master) will have its blue indicator light stay solid (permanently ON).
    • The other module (the Slave) will have its blue indicator light continue to flash.
  5. Connect Phone (Again): Now, turn your phone's Bluetooth back ON and connect to the single "DAU Audio" name that appears.
  6. Stereo Sound: Music played will now be split into Left and Right channels across the two separate speakers.
